Painting & Sculpture
My practice situates itself within the grey areas of where the physical and the virtual overlap, in an effort to explore perceptions of reality in an increasingly digitised context. By exploring new ways of making, with the cross-fertilisation of traditional painting and augmented digital technologies, I aim to explore these ‘in-between spaces’. As the distinctions between the ‘digital’ and the ‘real’ have become ever more elusive, my practice seeks to deconstruct their relationship, re-negotiating their boundaries. My main interest looks at the hybridity of contemporary painting and the way in which it interacts with other disciplines and materials not traditionally found in its historical sphere.
