My practice aims to produce a personal visual language that portrays my emotional experiences of landscape exploration. From these scenes, I develop minimal drawings that emphasize the geographical variations of the land.
By linearly abstracting these coastal panoramas, I outline the variable consistency of each particular space by engendering reflection upon abstruse content hidden within my drawings.
Allowing for an atmospheric association between separate sceneries in Morecambe Bay and Cockerham Sands, I aim to produce a correlative narrative between these distinct areas to highlight subjects relating to solitude, tranquillity and the ethereal.
Personal narrative and emotional investigation is implicated within the drawings, aiming to interpret their analogous attributes. By merging the uniqueness of each landscape, my artwork links the identifiable traits of their unstable nature. Through monochromatic portrayal, I intend to stimulate the aesthetic properties of the work that I believe are fundamental to conveying my phenomenological experience of the spaces.
